Hi there! I’m a graphic designer + illustrator based in Ogden, Utah. My current specialties are maps and repeat patterns, though I have experience doing everything from t-shirt design to children’s book illustration. This portfolio shows examples my past work. If you would like to collaborate on a project, please contact me!

Go Hike Utah

I’ve always had a thing for maps, so when I moved to Utah from the midwest and started hiking, I couldn’t resist designing a decorative map of all the hiking trails in Ogden. It sent me down quite the rabbit hole! I used a combination of several existing maps and Google satellite data to figure out which representations were most accurate, then drew each trail one by one. I also photographed plants I found while hiking the Ogden trails, then identified them and turned them into simple illustrations.

After finishing the Ogden map, I started designing versions of other nearby hiking areas - including North Ogden, Layton, and Snowbasin. I eventually hope to do the entire state of Utah.

I currently sell these maps and other hiking related gifts on Etsy and at local markets. A portion of each sale is donated to the Trails Foundation of Northern Utah.

Motherhood is Big Enough

When asked if I could illustrate a book, I wasn’t very confident in my abilities. But I loved the concept, so I went for it! The author wrote this “Board Book for Moms” as a love letter to anyone in the newborn stage, especially those dealing with tough emotions and postpartum depression. It allows moms to read to their babies while getting a message meant just for them.

I loved coming up with the illustrations for this book, basing most of them on my own experiences raising children. Other moms seemed to resonate with them, too - when the author created a Kickstarter campaign to raise enough money for printing, 164 backers helped her reach that goal! The book can now be found in local shops and on Amazon.

2024 Ogden Marathon

I had the honor of designing the artwork for the 2024 Ogden Marathon. I combined the natural scenery from the first half of the marathon with downtown buildings and landmarks found at the end of the race. A marathon course map and native plant illustrations add some interesting details and patterns, while the inclusion of Union Station acts as a nod to the building's 100th anniversary.

Other designers used elements from my artwork to create posters, race bibs and medals for all the different marathon events. The illustration was also printed on coffee mugs and t-shirts.

Illustrations

Most of these illustrations were drawn for cards and gifts. All drawings were made using Procreate for iPad.

The hummingbird drawing was an illustration for one of Craft Lake City’s public art exhibitions: “Celebration of the Hand: Planting for Pollinators" in 2023. I was assigned Blue Flax as my plant, and chose a Costa's hummingbird as the main pollinator. Additional pollinators can be seen in the background pattern.

Fabric Design

I have designed several repeat patterns for fabric, most of which are available for purchase from Spoonflower.com.

BoBunny & American Crafts

These are a few samples of scrapbook paper and stamps I designed while working with BoBunny and American Crafts. Everything was created in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign, with a mix of stock imagery and my own illustrations. I also handled setting up the files for print and production. The products I designed were sold all over the world, and could often be found in Hobby Lobby and Michaels.

Sidewalk Sale Signage

Window vinyl, t-shirts, and other signage I designed for the annual Sidewalk Sale in downtown Lawrence, Kansas. All assets were created for the custom t-shirt shop I managed.

T-Shirt Designs for College Athletes

I’ve recently been working with a client who helps college athletes come up with t-shirt ideas in response to the new NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) rules. He helps them create concepts that might sell, then he puts together rough instructions on a Power Point slide and sends them to me. I bring the idea to life, turning each concept into a printable design file.

Another recent project of mine was an illustration of native plants and pollinators for an art installation in Salt Lake City. This 4’x8’ piece was commissioned by Craft Lake City, and will be one of 14 designs displayed.
